Landon Leaves the Nest

Landon enjoys his apartment

Our oldest step grandson, Landon, officially “left the nest!”

In fall 2016, he began Running Start, a two-year program offered here in Washington that enabled him to complete his last two years of high school requirements while at the same time earning his Welding Certification. Because of his hard work and commitment, he did very well in the program and we were excited to celebrate with him in June 2018.

That’s one happy Mom!

He then began full-time employment at the Lynden location of Oxbo, where harvesters are developed, manufactured, and distributed  for Berry, Coffee and Vineyard growers around the World.

Shortly after his employment began, he located an apartment here in Lynden. He was able to do this because of his thrifty lifestyle. He worked part-time during most of his high school years, and was able to accumulate quite a savings account for someone his age (19).

We are proud of Landon and what he has accomplished over the past two years!

Update: As the year comes to a close, he still loves his work, his apartment, and (fortunately) still loves coming to our family gatherings!

There are more photos in the 2018 Family Memories photo album.
